Submit your curious art to take part in Briar & Bone's May gallery show: CABINET OF CURIOSITIES.

May is Briar & Bone's one year anniversary! To mark the occasion, we're hosting a multi-artist show in our gallery with the theme: CABINET OF CURIOSITES.

We're seeking art that's odd, unusual, curious, and/or embodies the spirit of a Victorian cabinet of curiosities. The show will run from May 5th to June 11th.

Submit images of 3-5 of your works, along with their dimensions and prices, a one paragraph artist's bio, address and phone number, via email to [email protected] with the subject line: Curious Art. Entries are due by April 17th.
Selected artists will be notified via email on April 22nd.

Works will be selected for the show based on quality of the work, relevance to the theme, and how well they fit with other selected works to create a cohesive show.

Selected works must be delivered ready to hang, to Briar & Bone at 285 Main Street in Biddeford no later than May 3rd. Works on paper or other flexible surface must be secured in black frames. Works on stretched canvas or other non-flexible surfaces do not require framing.

A reception for the show is scheduled from 5:00pm-7:30pm on May 19th, to coincide with Biddeford's monthly art walk. The reception will include wine, seltzer and light hors d'oeuvres. Artists are encouraged to attend the reception and make themselves available to speak with prospective buyers.

Briar & Bone will collect a standard 50% commission on all pieces sold. Artists will receive checks for sold pieces at the end of the show. All unsold works must be picked up no later than June 17th.
